Learning Styles Questionaire Results

Throughout the past two years of my education course I have completed many online quizzes and questionnaires focusing on ‘depicting different learning styles’, however I am not sure how I feel about this type of self-analysis and am forever questioning and debating which answer to pick, returning  to answers to change them (defeating the purpose of the quiz).  I also think that in this instance, posting it online and reflecting publicly probably made it more difficult to fill out, as its accuracy can be debated. I usually find that I disagree with the results and need to justify the validity, as in different situations I learn and understand different concepts in different ways. Although I do appreciate the importance of understanding different learning styles and the way people learn, I don’t believe online quizzing is a true indication. From an education perspective, I think a more accurate indication can be revealed by knowing the interests and needs of the whole child.

Posted below are my results from the Felder and Solomon questionnaire, revealing my learning preferences, style and balance and a brief description of where I rank in the continuum. These results display elements of accuracy on how I best learn (kinaesthetically) however also show inaccuracies in other areas. I also completed the Multiple Intelligences test. Take a look at the results : )

ACTIVE AND REFLECTIVE LEARNER: I have a very strong preference for active learning rather than reflective learning. I have real difficulty learning in an environment which does not support active learning
SENSING AND INTUITIVE LEARNER: I am fairy well balanced between a sensing and intuitive learner

VISUAL AND VERBAL LEARNER: I have a very strong preference for visual learning rather than verbal learning. I have real difficulty learning in an environment which does not support visual active learning

SEQUENTIAL LEARNER AND GLOBAL LEARNER: I have a moderate preference for sequential learning and learn easily in a teaching environment which favors sequential learning

Multiple Intelligence
I took the Multiple Intelligence test.  View my results by following the link by copying the code below into the ‘Your Code’ section
