e-learning and Digital Learning Design

This week’s tasks have asked us to consider digital pedagogy and successfully employing it within the classroom. With the many controversial debates on whether or not digital pedagogy facilitates learning within the classroom, I have explored polices, frameworks and theories to better understand its place and importance within education. Much evidence shows that learning with ICT is beneficial when implemented in a productive way. Education Queensland recognises digital pedagogy as being "a new way of working and learning with ICT to facilitate quality learning experiences for 21st Century learners. Digital Pedagogy moves the focus from ICT tools and skills, to a way of working in the digital world". (p.3)

Throughout my research I have discovered the importance of knowing and understanding the certain regulation and expectations of ICT for education, which requires Learning Managers to reach a specific benchmark at each level of competency.  These requirements are outlined in the UNESCO ICT competency document. Whilst browsing through these policy requirements, it was interesting to see the many different skill areas that are a necessity when implementing ICT in education and showed me the importance of why having these skills is vital for successful ICT implementation in the classroom.
